Welcome to

Terrace Bar

at Northern Football Club

The Terrace Bar was refurbished and given a much needed makeover in September 2018. The bar itself is a lot bigger meaning you can fit more staff behind on a busy match day.

Since reopening July after lockdown the Terrace Bar has been busier than ever! We have put several measures in place to ensure your visit is a safe one. Visitors will be asked to sign in using the pen and paper provided, then post their name and contact number in a red post box. These details are kept secure and are used for track and trace in the event of someone reporting symptoms of Covid-19. (Your details will not be used by the club or passed on to any third parties. All information will be destroyed after 21 days). We have also reduced the amount of tables in the bar to allow for social distancing to take place. For further information on how the club is preventing the spread of Covid-19, see

The bar features 8 draught beer and cider lines, 4 craft beer lines and 4 real ale lines. In total there are 16 beer lines! This means we can have a wider range of products to fit everyone's taste. A lot of people come to The Terrace Bar for the craft beer with breweries such as Two By Two, Anarchy and Grounding Angels in regular attendance. The real ale on sale is also very popular with our record being a full ferkin (72 pints) sold in less than an hour! The bar boasts a wide range of gins and wine. There is a separate designated wine fridge behind the bar. Please ask one of our bar staff about our range of gin and wine.

As well alcohol, the Terrace Bar is a perfect location for tea and coffee. There is a professional barista coffee machine behind the bar. Our staff are trained to server a variety of coffees from flat white to cappuccino. Hungry? Why not try one of our freshly made sandwiches. Cakes and scones are also available.

You do not need to book a table in advance or be a member to use the bar. Everyone is welcome. Northern is not just a rugby club. We encourage members of the local community to come and use our facilities. A rugby club doesn't have to be full of burly men. We want people to be able to bring their families down.

The Terrace Bar is a great place for live sport with 3 large TVs and a drop down big screen projector. We show all televised Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle United fixtures. There are 2 sky boxes, allowing us to show two different sports at the same time. This works well during the Champions League if two English teams are playing at the same time.

There is a great view of the 1st Team pitch from the Terrace Bar. We have had new sliding door windows fitted with frosted Northern crests on, allowing easy access to the outside space. There are often deer running on the pitches from the nearby wildlife reserve. This view is one of the things that makes us a "hidden gem".

Here is a short videro showing the transformation back in September 2018. Click the link:
