Chris Matthews MBE


Everyone at Northern Football Club is proud to announce that former president Chris Matthews has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's recent honours list. Chris served as president of the club between 2011 and 2013 and is the current chairman of the club. He helps organise the Natwest rugby force weekend, where volunteers come and help maintain the changing rooms and foliage around the pitches.

The MBE was award for voluntary services in the community, especially with young people in Tyneside. Chris and family were invited down to Buckingham Palace on 19th May where he received the award from H.R.H Price of Wales.
