With social distancing rules now being relaxed, Northern can finally start to think about what happens out on the rugby pitch. Last season was cut short due to the pandemic, so Northern's first team will remain in Durham Northumberland One. The Wanderers were crowned champions of Candy League Two having remained unbeaten all season, and now play in Candy League One.

The first training session of the new season will take place on Thursday 8th July. Social distancing will be in place in accordance with guidelines in groups of 6.  This session is for CURRENT PLAYERS ONLY and consists of close skills, speed, agility and fitness exercises. There will only be a maximum of 24 players taking part at one time, so will be at two different time slots. A one way system will be in place as well as stations to sanitise rugby balls. Players are reminded to bring their own water bottle to training.

Once we have navigated the first lot of training, the club will be open for any new players to come and join in. Please do not just show up. We need to monitor how many players are at each session. The best people to contact will be our Wanderers managers Ryan Moore and Dan Coates.

More details on how to join Newcastle's oldest rugby club will be posted soon
