Northern travel to Aspatria for pre season friendly.
Due to the recent heatwave the country has seen over the close season, it was desided that there would be no preseaon games at McCracken Park. We are giving the pitches plenty of time to recover before we host Hartlepool Rovers on 1st September.
Our only preseason friendly sees a Northern side travel to Aspatria RFC in Cumbria this Saturday. All the players know that improvments will be needed following a dissapointing relegation from North One East last season.
For those of you who are not familiar with Aspatria (me being one of them!) here is what good old Wikipedia has to say;
"Aspatria Rugby Union Football Club is based in Aspatria, Cumbria (formerly Cumberland) in north west England, not far from the Scottish Border. They are nicknamed the "black reds", and have a red cockerel as their logo. They currently play in Cumbria 1 - a tier 7 league in the English rugby union system - having been transferred into the division for the 2018-19 season following the cancellation of North Lancashire/Cumbria."
Aspatria's website can be found here - http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/aspatria/
Their home ground is Bower Park, Station Road, Aspatria, WIGTON, Cumbria, CA7 2AJ
