Northumberland County Cup

Kick off 7pm

Northern play their first cooperative game of the season on Tuesday, when they play away to Percy Park in the Northumberland County Cup. A 24 man squad will travel, all wanting to impress ahead of the first league fixture against Hartlepool Rovers on 1st September. Both teams will use the game in preparation for the upcoming season. 

There were a lot of new faces in the team that traveled to Aspatria on Saturday. Unfortunately Northern came up sort losing 42-19, although this was never going to be about the score. A lot of new ideas having been talked about in training and it’ll be interesting to see if Northern can use them in this game. 

Although everyone likes a good cup run, the league will be the main priority. Looking to bounce back to North One East at the first time of asking. 

Percy Park are the current holders of the cup having won the final held at McCracken Park last season.
