Northern Football Club has been named Marketing Club of the Year at this year’s Club Mirror Awards, held at Doncaster Racecourse this past Thursday

This is the sixth time the club has attended the black tie event, and the sixth time it has come away with an award. Northern were named Rugby Club of the Year for three successive years from 2012 to 2014. In 2015 they came away with Membership Club of the Year and in 2016, picked up Manager of the year.

The awards have previously been held in Manchester but this year’s event was held at Doncaster Racecourse. This favoured the club as it was less distance to travel. There were talks that Newcastle Racecourse could have been used as a venue. This would be perfect as it’s just a short walk down the road!

So on Thursday morning, the club’s committee and managers made their way to Doncaster. Everyone would like to thank John Inverdale for his amazing job hosting on the night. He remembered that this wasn’t the first time we’d been up on stage picking up an award. Northern were up for three awards. These were Green Club of the Year, Marketing Club of the Year and Rugby Club of the Year

Northern were awarded Marketing Club of the Year. This has a lot to do with its impact on social media. A lot of people hear about club events on their timelines and are often invited to attend through Facebook. We also have multiple televisions in the clubhouse that stream how our teams are doing and what is coming up. Click HERE to find out how to follow us on social media

The Club doesn’t know what they could be up for next year, but are hoping to keep this good run going and making it seven from seven! Maybe the event will be closer to home!
