Our Weekly (ish) Northern FC Newsletter!


Rugby

Saturday 13th October - 1st XV is at home to Ponteland. Currently we are averaging more than 50 points per game and looking to continue the unbeaten start to the season.The pre-match lunch is Gi's famous Mince & Dumplings plus veggies (£6 from about 2pm) - please let me know if you are joining us. This will also be a good opportunity to see the refurbished Terrace Bar.
Wanderers are away to Ashington II 

Club News

The refurbished Terrace Bar opens on Friday 12th October  with  opening day offers of half price  on draft beers, gin and Prosecco. The Terrace Bar will be open every day from 12 noon with Barista coffee and teas and light refreshments (fabulous cakes, paninis, scones both sweet and savoury, wraps, sandwiches etc.) available in addition to a selection of Craft beers, a Gin Menu plus the usual selection of draft beers.

Sad News

We are very sorry to let you know that Gerry Cooper passed away recently having not recovered from a serious fall. Gerry (or Steed as he was affectionately named by Colin White) was a 1st XV player, Gypsy captain and Club President when the new Club building was opened.

Funeral notice:

COOPER GERALD South Gosforth formerly Jesmond Peacefully in hospital on 29th September aged 82 years. Gerry devoted husband of the late Dorothy, cherished dad of Simon, Jeremy and Julie, proud grandad of Philip, Adam, Rachel and Abby, he was also a dear brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are welcome to meet at West Road Crematorium on Tuesday 16th October at 2.15pm for a celebration of Gerry's life. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Cancer Research UK


Social Touch Rugby

 Now taking place on Wednesday nights (moving from Mondays) meeting at 7.50pm for some friendly, fun rugby exercise and no doubt some banter. 


Girls Rugby

Girls rugby training is on a Friday evening from 6:30pm. Although fairly new, numbers have been increasing week by week with great support and intest being shown by others. If you are interested in joining in, either come down on a Friday night or contact Jaymes Bulman on 07398724005

Friday 14th December - Jason Isaacs returns for a Christmas night with traditional Christmas carvery. £15 per head - booking essential.

NEW YEAR's EVE - with live music from Hip Operation and Gi's famous buffet.
