Northern have always had girls training at the club. They are included in mini rugby until they reach a certain age. As the boys in the teams progress, it was no longer possible to have mixed gender teams. Northern wanted to help these girls continue to play rugby after they have progressed through the minis. About 2 years ago the club started girls rugby training on a Friday night at the club. This has become very popular with more girls interested in playing and even the girls section getting their own sponsor.

Northern FC would like to congratulate the following

girls after being selected for the Northumberland County squad

Brooke Forster

Eve Pugmire

and

Emma Skelly

Hannah Surtees has been selected as a reserve and invited to attend the training and development days

If you know anyone interested in playing girls rugby, see below
