No Access To McCracken Park Car Park

18th, 19th & 21st June

Last week a member of Newcastle City Council visited the club to inform us that there would be road resurfacing works taking part on the Great North Road on 18th, 19th & 21st June. This would be the stretch of road directly outside the club (southbound), as shown in the photo to the right. The northbound side of the road will still be open to both sets of traffic. Work is due to take place between 7pm and 7am so only evening visitors will be effected. During this period there will be NO access in or out of the club car park. Visitors will still be able to enter by foot.
Both northbound and southbound traffic will be using the northbound side of the duel carriageway. Work starts at the Brunton Park roundabout and ends outside the Shell garage. This is why the central reservation has been removed to allow traffic to cross over to the correct side of the road. Once all work has been complete, this gap will be restored to the way it was.

This will have a direct impact on those who attend Bridge Group on Tuesday, and the function on the Friday night. Those who require a taxi are advised to get dropped off/picked up on the opposite site of the road. If you are still planning on bringing your car to the club on these dates, please have consideration to the local residents around McCracken Park.

If we hear anything else from the council, we will let you know. Please follow our social media account to keep up to date with all goings on at the club.
